TMF's Eye Candy

Hello lovelies

So I tried some of the eye looks I might do this Saturday.  Now planning on the bases that would be suitable for these looks :)

A splash of yellow and gold on the lids.

Blues and golds somehow go together well.

This is look 1 with green and no shimmer.

This is look 2 with greens, golds and shimmers.

Urban Decay's The Naked Palette

Hello lovelies

I did a look on my sister a while back, using The Naked Palette, for a performance she had that day.

 Follow me on Instagram!

I'd highly recommend to get this palette as it features some really great shades (my fave is Naked - as it's a great transition colour for me for blending purposes!).

Also, it suits everyone - quite literally!

You can be a newbie who just wants to start out with or prefers neutral shades.  The key to this palette is it's versatility and buildability.

If you want an intense look, you just need to keep on layering till you get to something which you can be happy with.

The palette comes with a flat shader brush, made of synthetic bristles - great to be used with cream products as well :)

I think it retails for about SGD70-80 at Sephora - can't remember the price... but you get 12 different shades so it's a bargain - trust me.

This palette is a definite staple in my kit!

As you can see, I am already hitting pan with the colour Naked...LOL...

Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Electrum

Hello lovelies

There was a mad sale on the Illamasqua website a couple weeks back, and I did a haul together with a few friends.

I aimed for one of their infamous Liquid Metal, which was featured in a Pixiwoo tutorial .

I was absolutely enamoured with the look and texture of it, and decided to try one.

The Liquid Metal in Electrum was on sale and going for GBP7.50, with a further reduction of 10% - so I ended up paying about GBP6.25 or SGD 12.50 for 8 grams of product.  The regular price for one is actually GBP17.50.

Huge discount, did you say?

However, it took weeks for the package to arrive, as we used regular shipping (which was free by the way).

So anyways, I did a test yesterday just to see how well it would sit on my lids, and it wasn't too bad.

Sure the texture is completely out of this world.  It felt creamy, but nothing too heavy, yet it felt almost oily, but not being oily at all! I do not know what formulation this is, but the product slid on really unbelievably smoothly.

The only downside is that those with oily lids might have a problem with this product, due to this unique texture.

Creasing will definitely happen after a while, I suppose.

I layered a fine dusting of gold sparkles from LA Splash  and it seemed to set the liquid metal just fine.  But I have yet to test the longevity of this, and will do so soon.

I did not use a base, basically I just cleaned my lid with a makeup remover and patted it dry with a tissue.

Repost will come up once I have made the test-run!

Meanwhile here is an official tutorial from Illamasqua which features Electrum.

Nice and goldy!

Mac Veluxe Pearlfusion in Pinkluxe

Hello lovelies

So I was recommended to try out Mac's Veluxe palettes.

When I saw they had a purply-pink hues palette, I went a bit nuts and purchased one!  It retails for SGD72 at local Mac stores in Singapore.

It is definitely a worthy buy :)

You get 5 colours, in different textures as explained here (taken from Mac's US website).

I got a bit concerned when I saw alot of feedback from people who have tried it, and complained of fall out or the colours not being as vibrant as it ought to be.

However, I presevered and did some research, and discovered that you actually need to use regular water or even Mac's Fix+ in order to bring the colours to life and get it popping on your lids!

So I tried this method, and loved the results!

Then I got a bit itchy and also bought their palette in Brownluxe.

Just look at that gold! Yummeh...

Have yet to try this out as I am keeping it for an upcoming event!

Will post pics once I have them :)

Essence Cosmetics Hugs & Kisses Eyeshadow Palette review

Hello lovelies

At first glance, the colours looked bright and attractive.

Upon application though, the payoff wasn't so great.  These are more pastel, and basically great for people who only want a hint of colour on their eyes.

I had to layer quite a bit just to get the right intensity.

The look above was done using the golden beige, purple and pink, with Mac's Painterly Paintpot as my base.

Next, I tried the bright green, which was what attracted me to the palette in the first place.  But was thoroughly disappointed because it became a sheer wash of yellow on my lids instead.

Oh well :P

As this is a trend collection, the palette is no longer available in stores - not that it's a big loss? LOL...

MAC Viva Glam I LipGlass

Hello lovelies

Just decided to be vain today (when am I never?) and try the latest from Mac Viva Glam I collection - the lipglass!

It is super pigmented.

It's like red lipstick with a canvas of sheer sheen on top.

Made my lips feel so luxed out... LOL.

Pic taken from my Instagram

You could use this over their Mac Viva Glam I Lipstick or any other lipstick within the red family and it would look superb, guaranteed!

Items bought from the Viva Glam collection goes to charity, in case you didn't know already.

So basically,  you can look hot AND do good at the same time ;)

*Loves!*

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara review

Hello lovelies

Bought this for SGD18.90 from Watson's when they had their crazy member's only sale a few weeks ago.
What can I say about Maybelline's The Rocket Mascara?
It ROCKS.
The picture below justifies it already.
It is definitely the more affordable alternative to DiorShow Iconic Overcurl which retails at about SGD60? Can't remember...
It even beats, hands-down, Benefit's They're Real mascara (SGD37) - which always manages to poke me in the eye (maybe it's just me?).  However I will say that if you want to have uber thick lashes, you should layer on Benefit's They're Real over whatever mascara you'd already put on.
Honestly, I used to use Maybelline mascaras when I first started on makeup and I had a huge issue with them smudging and basically melting off my lashes.  I guess Maybelline has buckled up and changed the formulation, and this is seriously a great success for them.  Not to mention they have regained my trust in them ;) LOL ...
The Rocket goes on wet and sets pretty much within 5 seconds, yet is super easy to take off with a makeup remover.
Just a few swipes of my Biore Cleansing wipe and the mascara came off so easily!
Highly recommend you ladies to get your hands on this mascara :)
