Review: Dr Jart+ BB Bounce Beauty Balm

Hello lovelies,

I had the pleasure of being introduced to Dr Jart+ at a recent private event (which I am still taking some time to put together for another post).

What caught my eye was their latest BB cream.

Introducing the BB Bounce Beauty Balm!

So pretty right… love the packaging - sleek, simple and modern!

Here is a video showing how effective the coverage is using just this BB cream.

So I decided to test drive it today!

Before application - notice I have some redness to my nose - pretty normal for mornings for me.

After application - redness is reduced and overall skintone is more balanced.

The BB cream works really well for dry skin (like I have dry patches on my cheeks).  This would work really well in dry weather.  My test drive of the product today came at a good time, as I could also see how well it will fare in our current hot, and uber humid weather.

I was in office only half day but I had the makeup on for 8 hours. It managed well in an airconditioned environment (no dry skin or flaky makeup!).

Then I ventured out into the day, and while the weather was really sticky and humid - I was slightly surprised by how well the product held by the end of it.

Hardly any dent to the BB cream after running around in the hot Singapore sun!

With an SPF of 30, and decent coverage, this is nifty enough to be used on a daily basis, especially if you want just makeup on-the-go!  Great for busy mums like me.

Available at all Guardian and Watson's outlets that carry Dr Jart+.

Cheers

RAVE: ESKA Wellness Spa @ Batam!

Hello lovelies,

I went off to Batam about 2 weeks ago so I could get some girlie time with my BFF.

And I have just GOT to recommend this one place we went to at the last minute coz we couldn't get a reservation in at the original place that we intended.

We found our way to Nagoya Hill - which is the main shopping area within Batam.

It's a relatively busy shopping mall, and is a maze of shops that carry a variety of products like branded bags (some fake obviously, but there is a gem within that mall that carries originals for a fraction of what you can get in SG!).

My BFF and I were looking for a good spa to have some much needed rest and rejuvenation for ourselves, and we found it at ESKA Wellness Spa Massage .
We went for the Face & Body Couples Delight Spa package - which saved us quite a some dollars (SGD153 before taxes, so it came up to roughly SGD170 in the end)

It consisted of a luxurious aromatherapy body massage, that kneaded away all the muscle tensions and stress, done by fairly competent and professional therapists!  This was followed by a heavenly green tea scrub and mask, which had a deliciously fresh scent, and sloughed off all the dead skin off our bodies, leaving us with smooth, clear skin.

Then the therapists ushered us into a aromatherapy herbal jacuzzi bath, which featured massage therapy!

The next treatment was called V Spa Ratus.  Of course, I didn't have a clue as to what this was, till my BFF explained that this was a traditional and extremely popular treatment done by Indonesian ladies since the olden days - to tighten their V-J-J muscles!

(OK if you don't know what V-J-J is, please think of that part of the anatomy that resides between your legs....)

Needless to say, it was the most amusing part of the whole spa experience! Amused me to no end... you could only know by experiencing it for yourselves!

Then the last bit was the facial - which honestly, I have never been a fan of facials due to previous bad experiences.

ESKA managed to change my mind!

We did the Collagen/Cellular Extract facial - and O-M-G... I am totally bowled over with the results!

I had the clearest, most buoyant skin in years! The therapist took out ALL my blackheads and whiteheads.  Overall, it was the most pleasant facial I ever had, as I nearly fell asleep!

Look at that natural glow, and clear skin!
Of course, if you just wanted to drop in for the facial itself, you are most welcome to do so at a cost of roughly SGD33 before taxes.  I am already aiming for a return to Batam pretty soon! LOL....

Who knows, maybe I'll bump into one of you lovelies there?

Have a happy weekend!

Cheers

Latest: REVLON RIO Rush Collection Quad Eyeshadows

Hello lovelies,

It's been awhile!

Work has been hectic, and the kids have been needing their Mummy more than usual so I had to put writing on hold.

Now I am back with a vengeance! Yes, I also had been attending some beauty events with my buddy - Glamify SG - and do expect more posts after this!

So I came across this at Guardian's. The colours just caught my eye... coz I spied a purple! LOL...

Revlon Rio Rush The Collection by Gucci Westman

Exotic palette

Wild palette

I did swatches of the 2 palettes.

Exotic palette

The colour payoff is honestly decent for a drugstore brand - I could see a subtly exotic look put together with these shadows. The purple and yellow are definitely buildable, though the black was perhaps slightly lacking, and the goldy colour was shimmery at best on my skintone - I bet it could really pop if you used a good primer or base for the shadows.

Wild palette

The 2 strong colours - deep orange and emerald green - had a much more striking payoff, and the beige/skintone blended really well into my skin - which makes it a good transition colour. The white was slightly chalky though.

Overall, the 2 palettes would be really fun to play around with as they are relatively inexpensive (approx. less than SGD 25 each - I can't recall exact price but I'll update once I know!)

I do know that currently Watson's Singapore is having another 20% off cosmetic products right at this moment - so this might be a great time to grab!

Have fun :)

Cheers
