TMF Quick Look: Lollipops Paris Cosmetics - Lipstick Shiny

Hello lovelies,

Some time back, I spotted this funky looking makeup called Lollipops. They had been available about a year ago at Watson's Singapore - however Watson's stopped carrying them - I guess they replaced with more Korean brands (just have a look at the wide range available in stores now...)

So anyways, I was keen to check it out, and did swatches and was somewhat enamoured with the colours - however never got round to writing this mini review!

So here goes:

Lollipops Lipstick Shiny
L-R: Suzy Kiss, Girls Wanna Have Pink, Made in Love, Fatal Cocktail and Milkshake Baby
Such pretty packaging right??
Oh my tassels....!
Top to Bottom: Milkshake Baby,  Fatal Cocktail, Made in Love,  Girls Wanna Have Pink, Suzy Kiss

These are sheer lipsticks, so if you like subtle colours - then this is something you can definitely try. Also, a great summer must-have!

Me trying out this fresh, tangy tone called Fatal Cocktail - sweet right :)
Lollipops is now available at bellabox.sg, they will be including this in July's box so I'd recommend you to subscribe now before they get sold out!

First time subscribers only pay $9.90 for the first subscription box! Isn't that a sweet deal?  You get this lipstick, plus much more! If you didn't already know, bellabox takes different brands and products, puts 'em in a box and sends out to you ladies to try out. You can get some really good brands sometimes, and there's always something for everyone!

I'll be posting another TMF Quick Look soon for the rest of the Lollipops products which I got too!

Have a great weekend ladies :)

Cheers

Quick Rave! Moisture Veil LX powder by Covermark Singapore

Hello lovelies!

I can't stop gushing over this product that I discovered recently!

Let me introduce you to THE MOST ÜBER face powder that I have ever come across.

Moisture Veil LX by Covermark Singapore !

Check out Covermark's local website : http://www.covermarksg.com

It comes in a regular compact powder casing - that has a luxe finish - decked out in an ombre dark gold tone with gold trimmings - and just oh-so-pretty!

Picture taken using natural light so you can see how gorgeous it is!
Covermark is currently only available at Takashimaya's beauty hall- the counter is right next to the escalator and I happened to be served by the very delightful and friendly - Nur.

This powder comes in various tones.

I bought this in MN40!

Case and powder compact comes separately.

My tone is in MN40.

Powder compact comes enclosed - hygiene, people! YAY!

With Flash

Without Flash

When put together - with flash

Without Flash

Let me tell you ladies.

This powder is AH-MAZING!

First let me tell you what it contains.

It contains Covermark's signature Moisture Coating Formula that hydrates the skin (great for someone with dry skin like me!).  Also, there is a Skin Melting Formulation that helps to blend flawlessly into the skin. There is also the Sandwich Complex Powder and Moist Change Powder that helps to absorb oil, and gives radiance to the skin.  Along with an SPF32, this is the only powder which I am aware of using herbal extracts from 7 different herbs to moisturise the skin!

What it did for me:

  • Covered ALL my pores - leaving me with a FLAWLESS finish (YAY!!!)
  • Gave me a SUBTLE, RADIANT GLOW! (Double YAY!!!!)
  • Stayed on the WHOLE DAY - I didn't need to keep on topping up powder - talk about long-lasting and this is JUST powder, mind you! (OMG-YAY!!)
  • It has SPF32 - which means my face is protected from UV rays! (YaY!!!)
  • This last one is going to blow your mind - the powder DOES NOT OXIDIZE! (Are-you-friggin-kidding-me-Double-YAY!!!!!!!)
Yes you heard me right.

It DOES NOT OXIDIZE!

Instead what happens is that this powder actually brightens up throughout the day! You will end up with a MORE GLOWY effect than what you started out with!

Crazy, right?!!

So just so you guys believe this. I have evidence!

Bare faced.
With Moisture Veil LX powder at 6.30am, just before I went to work! NO  PORES and my red patches gone - powder had not settled into skin yet so it kinda looks pale at this point coz I had only JUST applied it!
The powder settles nicely into my skin within 15 minutes after application (Skin Melting Formulation) - and this pic is taken at work after lunch 1pm.
Back home at 8pm!

There was absolutely NO need for me to keep patting any powder.  I just stayed that way the whole day.

If you asked me, this is powder is worth investing in.

Especially good for on-the-go mummies like me, who have no time or just simply want something fast and lasts long - no hassle of having to bring my compact powder along ;) - a great plus especially for upcoming Hari Raya Puasa celebrations where most ladies would only have the fashionable slim or tiny clutches - haha - I know I will!

And did I mention that glow??

This is an honest-to-goodness rave review on this powder coz I simply LOVE IT.

If you are keen yet cautious, just go to the counter and check it out in person.  See the effects with your own eyes and judge for yourselves :) - I promise you will be happy you did!

FYI, there are other compact powders or powder foundations that might be more suited to your particular skin type - so DO check the options there before you make a straight-out purchase.

Cheers

Review: Dr Jart+ BB Bounce Beauty Balm

Hello lovelies,

I had the pleasure of being introduced to Dr Jart+ at a recent private event (which I am still taking some time to put together for another post).

What caught my eye was their latest BB cream.

Introducing the BB Bounce Beauty Balm!

So pretty right… love the packaging - sleek, simple and modern!

Here is a video showing how effective the coverage is using just this BB cream.

So I decided to test drive it today!

Before application - notice I have some redness to my nose - pretty normal for mornings for me.

After application - redness is reduced and overall skintone is more balanced.

The BB cream works really well for dry skin (like I have dry patches on my cheeks).  This would work really well in dry weather.  My test drive of the product today came at a good time, as I could also see how well it will fare in our current hot, and uber humid weather.

I was in office only half day but I had the makeup on for 8 hours. It managed well in an airconditioned environment (no dry skin or flaky makeup!).

Then I ventured out into the day, and while the weather was really sticky and humid - I was slightly surprised by how well the product held by the end of it.

Hardly any dent to the BB cream after running around in the hot Singapore sun!

With an SPF of 30, and decent coverage, this is nifty enough to be used on a daily basis, especially if you want just makeup on-the-go!  Great for busy mums like me.

Available at all Guardian and Watson's outlets that carry Dr Jart+.

Cheers

RAVE: ESKA Wellness Spa @ Batam!

Hello lovelies,

I went off to Batam about 2 weeks ago so I could get some girlie time with my BFF.

And I have just GOT to recommend this one place we went to at the last minute coz we couldn't get a reservation in at the original place that we intended.

We found our way to Nagoya Hill - which is the main shopping area within Batam.

It's a relatively busy shopping mall, and is a maze of shops that carry a variety of products like branded bags (some fake obviously, but there is a gem within that mall that carries originals for a fraction of what you can get in SG!).

My BFF and I were looking for a good spa to have some much needed rest and rejuvenation for ourselves, and we found it at ESKA Wellness Spa Massage .
We went for the Face & Body Couples Delight Spa package - which saved us quite a some dollars (SGD153 before taxes, so it came up to roughly SGD170 in the end)

It consisted of a luxurious aromatherapy body massage, that kneaded away all the muscle tensions and stress, done by fairly competent and professional therapists!  This was followed by a heavenly green tea scrub and mask, which had a deliciously fresh scent, and sloughed off all the dead skin off our bodies, leaving us with smooth, clear skin.

Then the therapists ushered us into a aromatherapy herbal jacuzzi bath, which featured massage therapy!

The next treatment was called V Spa Ratus.  Of course, I didn't have a clue as to what this was, till my BFF explained that this was a traditional and extremely popular treatment done by Indonesian ladies since the olden days - to tighten their V-J-J muscles!

(OK if you don't know what V-J-J is, please think of that part of the anatomy that resides between your legs....)

Needless to say, it was the most amusing part of the whole spa experience! Amused me to no end... you could only know by experiencing it for yourselves!

Then the last bit was the facial - which honestly, I have never been a fan of facials due to previous bad experiences.

ESKA managed to change my mind!

We did the Collagen/Cellular Extract facial - and O-M-G... I am totally bowled over with the results!

I had the clearest, most buoyant skin in years! The therapist took out ALL my blackheads and whiteheads.  Overall, it was the most pleasant facial I ever had, as I nearly fell asleep!

Look at that natural glow, and clear skin!
Of course, if you just wanted to drop in for the facial itself, you are most welcome to do so at a cost of roughly SGD33 before taxes.  I am already aiming for a return to Batam pretty soon! LOL....

Who knows, maybe I'll bump into one of you lovelies there?

Have a happy weekend!

Cheers
