LATEST: Revlon Absolute Radiance CC Cream - Initial Thoughts & Pictures

Hello lovelies,

I was at Watson's today, and came across a promotional pack of Revlon's recent release - Absolute Radiance CC Cream!

For S$25.90, you get the CC Cream plus a full-sized Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Lipstick.

The CC cream comes in 3 shades:

Creamy White (pink toned)
Natural Ochre (yellow toned)
Natural Beige (neutral toned)

(note: Choice is limited on colour for the lipstick so, please check before purchase. which colour you want.)

CC cream basically colour corrects and is suitable for people who have too much of a certain undertone to their natural skincolour, ie; red undertone thus a perpetually flushed look, or too yellow resulting in a sickly, sallow look, etc.

The plus point about Revlon's CC Cream is that, it claims to be a ONE step corrector that will give the skin multiple benefits, among them; a brightening effect, conceals, hydrates and with regular usage, even making the skin fairer in the long run!

It also boasts UVA/UVB protection of SPF 30/PA++, which is necessary when you live in the tropics!

So I tried the CC Cream, and could tell it is very moisturising, and does brighten to a certain degree.  There is indeed a dewy finish which I LOVE!  Also the coverage was pretty decent.

Before application

During application

After application and blending

See the difference!
Top is before, bottom is after.

The lipstick colour I chose in the end was Pink in the Afternoon, a sweet and refreshing salmon pink lip colour.

This is an awesome promo pack, and could be a nice gift for this festive season!

If I were you, I'd go for it.

Cheers

RAVE REVIEW Update: L'oreal La Creme True Match BB Cream

Hello lovelies,

Oh. My. God.

What can I say - this BB cream ROCKS!

I shall let the pics speak for themselves....

Me with a BARE face

Me with the BB cream on in the morning - can you see the difference? My skintone is evened out completely and amazingly, eventhough the cream is light-textured - it provides amazing coverage! I didn't even need any concealer!

Me with full makeup on 6 hours later in office - still looking FRESH - *BB cream lightly powdered over by Sephora's 8 hour Mattifying powder.

My 2 cents?

Please do yourselves a favour and...

 GET.
THIS.
PRODUCT!

It's all you'll ever need for daily use, and the SPF35 is definitely a bonus point!

Makeup Forever Aqua Liner

Hello lovelies,

The other day, my fellow beauty blogger - Glamify SG and I - decided to take up Sephora's 15% discount offer for members.

We got ourselves Makeup Forever's Aqua Liners coz they looked SO PRETTY!

Check out what I got!

No. 11 Aqua Liner - a delicious burgundy wine

No.5 Aqua Liner - a bright, eye-catching blue!

Each liner is going for SGD33 at Sephora stores islandwide.

I tried out No.11, and here is the pic :D

LOVE the simplicity of it!

A nifty, idiotproof product to use when you're in a rush and have no time for an elaborate session of makeup in the mornings ;)

L'oreal La Crème True Match BB Cream: Pics & Initial Thoughts

Hello lovelies,

I was at Watson's (again) and came across this little beauty :)

I knew L'oreal had launched a BB cream but never really looked into it at the time coz I was more concerned with Mac's Face & Body (another ah-mazeballs product, courtesy of Mac!)

Anyhoo, Watson's currently is having an offer on certain L'oreal products where you get 1 free if you buy 2!  Products on offer will be on a special display.

So by the time I came by today, most of the good stuff was already sold out, and I ended up purchasing just this BB cream coz it was offered at the nifty price of just SGD13.90!

The product comes in one tone - G2 Gold BB - and it claims to retexturize and brighten the skintone and cancelling out yellow undertones, in addition to containing anti-ageing properties.  The cream also boasts an SPF of 35 PA+++.

Here is my swatch of it, done on my inner arm.

Top is bare, whilst the lower part is the BB cream, already blended into the skin.

Product comes out as a light-textured liquid, not runny at all.

When I started to blend in using my fingers, I could tell it is very moisturising - probably due to it's hyaluronic content.

It blended well into my skintone, and did not feel sticky to the touch, nor did it feel 'heavy' as some BB or CC creams feel.

Overall, I could say it helps to even out my skintone somewhat, with a light to medium coverage.

Not bad for one of L'oreal's initial foray into the BB cream industry - seems they have come up with a product that might be more suitable for normal-to-dry and lightly-blemished skin. This might be something for you to get your mum or grandmums, as the high moisturising qualities might be very suitable for matured skin.

Note: If you are having acne-prone or very troubled skin, this might not work for you.  It might even leave you with even more 'oily' looking skin instead, due to it's high content of moisture.

The Joker Inspired Makeover

Major project completed successfully was The Joker inspired makeover for 13 people!

These are some of the looks I came up with initially, but eventually everyone agreed to stick to the classic, messed up Joker look that Heath Ledger made famous....

I had another event to go to that night and I did an inspired look on myself :)

I did a variation for Harley Quinn and Catwoman, just coz I thot it would add a bit more oomph...

The overall look for everyone.

Maybe a look for Halloween too?

Thus has begun the season of D&Ds and I was recently asked to do makeovers for some gorgeous ladies.

Here they are :)

Some of the lighting was not great (sorry was in a big rush!).

Thanks to these ladies who trusted in me to do their makeovers.

Longevity Test: Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Electrum

I promised feedback on Illamasqua's Liquid Metal.

The results are in:

You can only get the product to last maximum 3 hours, 4 hours at most.

I used Mac's Paintpot in Painterly as base, applied Electrum and set it with LA Splash's gold sparkles.

This is what it looked like in the morning at 6am.

By 11am, it degenerated.

There was heavy creasing, the product basically had started to 'dissipate', and it was just looking like a hot mess after 3 to 4 hours.

I personally do not have oily lids, and lean more towards dry skin, but this product (possibly the emollient ingredients that it's made of?) made me look like I had really oily lids!

So please give this item a big MISS.

It would only be useful for like, brief usage - say, a photoshoot - and highly unsuitable for daily wear for regular folks like you and I.

Cheers
